Rothschild Giraffe

[Rothschild Giraffe at Lake Nakuru] The Rothschild Giraffe are one of the three types of Giraffe we saw - the others being Maasai and Reticulated. The Rothschild have three horns - like the Reticulated - two on top and a third on their forehead. However, unlike the Reticulated, they have white 'socks' on their feet. On the younger ones their spots are also multi-colored. Darker on the inside than on the edges.

We saw the Rothschild Giraffe at Lake Nakuru. They are the rarest of the three types of giraffe.
