European Travel

Trip #2 - London and Manchester, England - April 1998

In 1998 I did a lot of traveling, enough to make Platinum on American Airlines. I planned a big trip to Europe, as I had never been on the Continent, for the last week in May. In April, a month before I was supposed to go, I got sent to London on business. I was asked if I was interested in going to a GE and a GE Capital European CIO meeting. "Sure," I replied. Here I haven't been to Europe in 10 years and now I am going twice in a month. The GE Capital meeting was in in London and the GE meeting was in Egham. I took a train up to Manchester and met up with Jen and got to drive around in a rental car and pick up some Indian contractors at the airport. The whole stick-shift on the wrong side was a bit of a problem, as were most intersections, and getting used to the length of the left side of the car. I hit a lot of curbs. But I eventually got the hang of it. Not much in the way of pictures on this trip, it was pretty short.
